We love it when you come back and join us on other trips!  When you join us for your second 'Escape Adventure' we will knock NZ$150 off your trip price.  This is cumulative so when you join us for your third 'Escape Adventure' we will knock NZ$300 off, NZ$450 off your forth and every trip there after.  This CAN also be combined with our Referral's Bonus. Please note that this discount only applies to trips of minimum 13 days, and can not be combined with any other discount.

More and more we are finding that our trips are made up of people either returning to join us on 2nd, 3rd or even 4th trips; or people who have heard about our trips from friends.  This is of great value to us, so for every friend you tell that books with us you will receive NZ$150 off your next trip with us.  Yes this CAN be combined with your Loyalty Discount.  Just make sure that your friend mentions you when they book with us.  Please note that only one Referral Bonus is payable per person who books with us, only applies with direct bookings and trips of minimum 13 days.


Group Deals

 

We offer a 6% discount for groups of six, 7% for groups of seven, 8% for groups of eight, 9% for groups of nine, and 10% for groups of ten (or more where applicable).  Please note that Group Deals are only available for our normal scheduled trips, when booked directly and can not be combined with any other discount.

Recipes

 

Here are a few of our favourite trip recipes....

 

Lots of people have been asking for the recipe for Mandy's Magic Muesli Slice so here it is!!

Mandy's Magic Muesli Slice

  • In a large mixing bowl place the following dry ingredients (or adapt to suit what is available): 2c sesame seeds, 1c coconut, 1c sunflower seeds, 1c sultanas, 1c chopped dried fruit, 1c nuts, 1c pumpkin kernels, 3c cornflakes, 1½c rolled oats.
  • In a saucepan melt 250g butter, 1½ c honey, and 1½ c tahini (in Africa I use peanut butter). Simmer stirring often until golden brown (for about 10 minutes).
  • Pour contents into dry ingredients when golden, mix well and then press into a greased tray. (On the road - I was using the tupperware containers which worked fine). Chill in the fridge and cut when set.

Campfire Chocolate Cake - an Escape Adventures specialty.


60g cocoa (I like it dark so lets say 100g)
Heaped tbsp coffee powder
250ml boiling water
4 eggs - separated
300g (or less) raw sugar
125ml of canola or sunflower oil
60ml brandy
250g flour
2 tsp baking powder
Pinch salt

 

  • Mix cocoa and coffee powder into the boiling water.
  • Add the sugar little by little and stir until thick and creamy. Add the egg yolks.
  • Mix in the oil and brandy.
  • Mix the dry ingredients together and add to the mixture.
  • Make a well and then add the beaten egg whites.
  • Pour all into the greased medium sized sofria with lid.
  • Roll up 3 balls of tin foil (or use rocks) and build a camp oven inside a larger sofria. Tin foil the lids closed of both sofrias and place amongst the hot embers.
  • The cake is ready when you FEEL the time is right!
  • Enjoy HOT!
