Golden Bay, the undiscovered corner of New Zealand's South Island is fast becoming a mountain biker's paradise with a range of natural and purpose built tracks of all grades. There is a feast of mountain biking to be had.

Road/leisure biking is an equally wonderful way to get out and explore the quirks and hidden treasures of our stunning area.

We offer transport, bike hire, maps and information for self-guided rides, and single & multi-day mountain biking trips...

Canaan Downs

From Takaka let us take you up the Takaka Hill and into Canaan Downs. From there we'll give you a map and send you off to explore up to 40km of single track and 900m descent including Canaan Downs tracks, the Rameka Track, the Pack Track, Project Rameka, One and Two Klick and returning to Takaka. OR For those who have driven up from Nelson and come down the Rameka Tracks - let us drop you back to your car at the top.

$25 per person with bike | $95 including bike hire | minimum 4 | bookings essential

Mount Arthur

From Takaka, we will carry you and your bikes over the Takaka Hill and up to the Mt Arthur car park, dropping your own vehicle in Upper Takaka on the way if you wish. From there we'll give you a map and point you in the right direction and you can ride through to Upper Takaka via Flora Saddle & Baron's Flat - a huge day of technical riding through Kahurangi National Park.

$75 per person with bike | $145 including bike hire | minimum 4 | bookings essential

Freedom Rides

We have created a number of road/leisure rides that take you to the wonderful attractions, quirks and hidden treasures in and around, Takaka, Pohara & Golden Bay. From bush-walks, caves, waterfalls and swimming spots to funky art galleries and cafes - its all here. Drop in a pick up a map and we'll point you in the right direction; or if you are staying on the outskirts of town we can drop a bike and map out to you.
